Marketing Funding Now Available for Ontario Producers & Processors

Ontario-based producers and processors have until May 6, 2019 to secure up to $100,000 in cost-share marketing funding through the government’s CAP program.

Are you expanding into new markets? In need of a new marketing strategy? If so, you’ve picked a great time of year because the 2019 CAP: Economic Development Program (EDP) has launched and is now accepting funding applications from Ontario-based producers and processors.

What is CAP?

CAP is a five-year (2018 – 2023), $3B investment by federal, provincial and territorial governments to strengthen agriculture, food and beverage and seafood sectors. Producers in Ontario may be eligible for up to $100,000 in cost-share funding (35/65 – government/applicant). Ontario-based Processors may be eligible for up to $150,000 in cost-share funding (35/65 – government/applicant).

The Application Process: Producers

Before submitting your application, you’ll need to complete a Growing Your Farm Profits (GFYP) Action Plan. At the Ontario Soil and Crop Improvement Association (OSCIA) website you can book either an in-person or online workshop to complete yours today (all courses are free). Once submitted, you will be notified by mail and/or email approximately 45 business days from the Application Intake close date (May 6, 2019).

The Application Process: Processors

Applications are submitted electronically. You can apply and submit all required documentation at www.ontarioprograms.net . You can also complete the electronic Application Form for the Project Category you are applying under and submit the completed application and all required documentation by email to agpartnership@ontario.ca.
