Their mission started in the kitchen.
The Raw Carrot feeds more than hunger.
The Raw Carrot began crafting frozen, gourmet soups in a small church kitchen, with an empowering idea: only employ individuals who are traditionally excluded from the workplace. Their vision struck a chord in their community, and as they expanded, it became clear there was a larger opportunity to feed the growing need for dignity in the workplace—they just didn’t know how to do it yet.
Challenge
Frozen soups only sell in certain months and are difficult to ship. This limited revenue, restricted employment for staff, and made it hard to tell the story of The Raw Carrot beyond the local community. The team needed a product that could reach homes anywhere, keep staff employed year-round, and clearly communicate their social mission.
Insight
People want to support The Raw Carrot, but they need a way to engage that is easy to access and share. A shelf-stable, giftable product could introduce the brand to new supporters, businesses, and even decision-makers, while creating consistent work for employees.
Idea
We designed a gift box that’s more than just packaging. It tells the story of The Raw Carrot, showcases the people behind every product, and supports meaningful work for staff across all locations. The box introduced new products (The Better Batter and Granola For Good) that could generate revenue, extend selling periods, and help the organization grow while keeping employment steady.
