Social Media & Content Specialist

CREW Marketing Partners is an award-winning strategy, management, and communications agency with offices in Oakville, ON, Surrey and Kelowna, BC.  We’re searching for a talented Social Media & Content Specialist to join our team in any of the aforementioned offices.

THE POSITION

This is a new role at CREW, and we’re looking for someone entrepreneurial who can not only grow this offering across our portfolio of clients, but jump right into the trenches, planning social and content strategies, developing content calendars, creating original copy and visual content, managing posts, responding to followers, and generally doing whatever else it takes to help our clients.

The Social Media & Content Specialist will work closely with (and be supported by) CREW’s various teams across Canada. Digital marketing specialists, web developers, marketing experts, and video and design specialists will all have your back.

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY

Areas of primary responsibility in this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Work with our marketing teams, prospective customers, and long-time clients to understand and document their core business needs & objectives, brand personalities, industry nuances, and more.
  • Perform research on competitors, identify industry benchmarks, uncover current trends, audience preferences, opportunities, and potential pitfalls.
  • Prepare social media and content strategies that take into consideration your insights, operational constraints (budgets, available assets, etc.), and our client’s business goals.
  • Present your ideas and concepts to client teams and stakeholders,demonstrating why your creative strategy is a solid approach.
  • Oversee and take ownership of a portfolio of social clients, and their various social media accounts (e.g. Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, and LinkedIn) creating, curating, publishing, promoting, and managing social media content and calendars.
  • Work with and coordinate contract suppliers as needed.
  • Suggest and implement new creative, test new features and approaches, and create promotions and competitions.
  • Community Management. Communicate with followers, and respond to queries in a timely manner escalating questions or concerns where appropriate.
  • Stay up-to-date with current technologies and trends in social media, design tools, and applications. You’ll be our in-house expert.
  • Other duties as required.

YOUR SKILLS

To be successful in this role, you should have experience with digital publishing, social platform management, and how traffic is generated for new business.

    • You’ll need to be able to effectively communicate information and ideas in written, spoken and visual format, especially when developing and presenting strategies and results.
    • Strong written skills are essential. You’ll be representing a diverse range of brands (from food companies to professional services) so being able to nail various tones is essential.
    • If you have experience with Adobe Creative Suite, or equivalent image/video editing tools, that’s a BIG plus. While not necessarily a “must-have,” those who can create and edit simple video and graphics independently will have an advantage.
    • Reporting and analytics experience. You exhibit the ability to jump from the creative side of marketing to the analytical side. You’ll be able to show the numbers behind your cat-gif animations.
    • A self-starter with exceptional multi-tasking and time management skills.
    • Proficiency in MS Office / Office 365.
    • Hands on experience with Content Management Systems (e.g. WordPress)

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Those who’ll exceed in this position are people who’ve had at least 4+ years’ experience in a social media, content creation, and/or copywriting role.

    Don’t have 4+ years experience, but think you’re perfect for the role? Don’t be shy. Some of our best hires have been people who had less formal backgrounds, but oozed drive and entrepreneurial spirit.

  • We expect applicants will be able to provide at least a couple of examples of how they helped a brand(s) reach their objectives through social and content.
